ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL
“More than a toy... he's your best friend.”
The yearly Halloween movie marathon would not be the same without Child’s Play! The movie series that started as bone-chilling horror and grew into a campy satirical slasher forever changed the way we see dolls… What if they are possessed by a spirit of a serial killer?
Fear not - this 3D print model will do you no harm! Instead, it can become a fantastic decoration for the upcoming Halloween or any spooky occasion. The incredibly detailed design by our contributor has two variations - the classic Good Guy doll with a merciless grin and Chucky ravaged with scars, as seen in the sequels. The villain is surrounded by mysterious items for a creepy ritual… But you won’t need one to bring Chucky model to life - a 3D printer will be just enough!
ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING
Chucky 3D printing design is a static assembly model, and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took Gambody team 45 hours. The model's anatomy and proportions were thoroughly reviewed during the moderation process for the horror icon to be depicted harmoniously in the intended pose.
The model's cutting was chosen by our team to minimise the amount of generated support and some of the parts were hollowed out for you to save resin in the Eco version. In order to conceal the places where the assembly parts of the model are connected, Chucky was cut along the contour of his body and clothes. For you to achieve the cleanest 3D printed result, the character’s head, hands, legs, feet, diorama elements etc. are provided as separate assembly parts.
All assembly parts of the FFF/FDM versions come in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out in order to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and so that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate.
The design is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.
The model's scale was calculated from the approximate height of Chucky which is 740 mm. The 3D printing design's chosen scales are 1:2 for the FFF/FDM version and 1:4 for the DLP/SLA/SLS versions.
