ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL

The Doom Slayer, also known as DM1-5DOOM Marine or the Hell Walker is the protagonist of the critically acclaimed Doom video game franchise of first-person shooters. To millions of fans’ delight, the brave soldier returned in the long-awaited 2016 reboot of the video game to battle demonic forces from Hell on a future-set colonised planet Mars. The author of the Doom Slayer 3D print model was excited to take up the symbolic project and decided to go for one of the most recognisable portrayals of the character and created the model drawing inspiration from the 2016 game's box art. Therefore, now every fan has a chance to obtain the iconic Doomguy in his trademark 2016 Praetor Suit ready to fire his Super Shotgun. The 3D artist spent 136 hours in total working on the finest details of the powered combat exoskeleton and the complex helmet in order to pay honour to the symbolic protagonist. The Marine doesn’t have a name in the game nor does he speak onscreen but, nevertheless, is an extremely well-loved by video game enthusiasts all over the world. ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING

Doom Slayer 3D design is a static assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took Gambody team 40 hours in total. The model's anatomy was thoroughly reviewed during the moderation process for the muscular soldier to be depicted harmoniously in the intended determined pose. The model's cutting was chosen by our team to minimise the amount of filament needed for generated support and some of the parts were hollowed out for you to save resin in the model’s Eco version. Moreover, in order to conceal the places where assembly parts of the model must be connected, Doom Slayer was cut along the contour of his Praetor Suit’s seams. For you to achieve the cleanest 3D printed result, Marine’s Super Shotgun and each pocket on the suit etc. are provided as separate assembly pieces. All assembly parts are provided in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out so to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate.

The design is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The model's scale was calculated from Doom Slayer's actual height that is 1830 mm. The 3D printing design's chosen scale is 1/8 for the FFF/FDM version and 1/16 for the DLP/SLA/SLS versions.
