ABOUT THIS 3D FIGURINE

“I know you wish things were different, I wish things were different. But they ain’t.”

The Last of Us Part II is a sequel to the successful action-adventure video game by Naughty Dog that centers on the grown-up Ellie who is 19 now and settled in a Wyoming commune. It’s been five years after Ellie and Joel took a dangerous journey in search of safety. Violent wars on the streets, horrifying zombie-like creatures, and vengeance on the mind of the protagonists - the developers filled the game with resonant stories that will not leave anyone indifferent. The game’s 20-hour runtime offers an incredible amount of poignant scenes and pivotal conflicts that Ellie finds herself in. However, the author of this beautiful figurine for 3D printing decided to place the protagonist of the brutal video game is the most placid setting possible. Inspired by the well-known promotional poster, the 3D artist spent 172 hours in total and portrayed the grown-up Ellie settled down with an acoustic guitar as if somewhere in the middle of a calm forest glade. Ellie is depicted with her hair half pulled back and fixed in a small ponytail while a single long strand falling down the left side of her face. The girl is wearing her usual well-worn overshirt with frayed sleeves and old sneakers - just take a look at the incredible level of detail on the shoe sole! The 3D printing adventurer also wears her backpack that has a round tear on the front pocket and a pair of pins: gold shield wings and a rocket with a moon are pinned just the way they are seen in the game. While playing the guitar Ellie showcases a bracelet on her right wrist - a charm gifted by Dina that comprises hamsa with an embedded evil eye and two sapphire beads. Last but definitely not least, the 3D artist did an outstanding job wrapping the tattoo around Ellie’s right forearm. The leafed fern and a moth might become a challenging painting job but just imagine the stunning result! The sequel to the acclaimed PS3 game received mixed reviews both from the franchise fans and fellow video game lovers. Nevertheless, there is no denying that TLOU has such memorable storytelling, it will hold a firm place in the hearts of fans for a long time. Embody the stoic protagonist of the second game’s installment by 3D printing Ellie with Guitar figurine!

ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING

Ellie with Guitar figurine for 3D printing is a static assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took Gambody team 45 hours in total. Figurine’s anatomy was thoroughly reviewed during the moderation process for the girl to be depicted harmoniously in the intended sitting pose. The model’s cutting was chosen by our team to minimize the amount of filament needed for generated support and some of the parts were hollowed out for you to save resin in the model’s Eco version. In order to conceal places where assembly parts of the model must be connected, the figurine was cut along the contour of Ellie’s clothes seams. For you to achieve the cleanest result possible such smaller parts as figurine’s ponytail, sneakers, backpack, shoulder straps, overskirt sleeves, hands, etc. are provided as separate files. The guitar that Ellie is depicted playing has also been extracted from the girl’s hold for you to achieve a nice result by simply assembling it between the figurine’s arms. All the assembly parts come in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out so to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate.  When downloading any figurine's file you will also receive "Assembly Manual" for FFF/FDM 1.0 and DLP/SLA 1.0 versions in PDF format.

The figurine is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The model's scale was calculated from Ellie's actual height that is 1680 mm. The 3D printing figurine's chosen scale is 1/8 for the FFF/FDM version and 1/16 for the DLP/SLA/SLS versions.
