Description

ABOUT THIS 3D FIGURINE

Garrosh Hellscream, son of Grom Hellscream and former chieftain of the Warsong clan, was a Warchief of the Horde known for his warmongering, cruelty and involvement with dark powers. Having grown up on Draenor, Garrosh came through the Dark Portal upon its reopening and was invited into the Horde by Thrall himself. Quickly ascending through the ranks of the Horde military, Garrosh led troops in the Northrend campaign against the Lich King and was given the position of Warchief with Thrall's subsequent absence during the Cataclysm.

ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING

The figurine is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The model's scale was calculated from the approximate height of Garrosh which is 2300. The 3D printing figurine's chosen scale is 1:8 for the FFF/FDM version and 1:16 for the DLP/SLA/SLS versions.

VERSIONS' SPECIFICATIONS

FFF/FDM 1.0 version features:
- Contains 24 parts;
- A printed model is 10 mm tall, 249 mm wide, 240 mm deep;
- Made with a removable axe;
- Contains locks to assemble the model without glue. The lock 8_Ge_lock_10H_(X21) needs to be printed 21 times, the lock 9_Ge_lock_7S_(X3) needs to be printed 3 times;
- All parts are divided in such a way that you will print them with the smallest number of support structures.

DLP/SLA 1.0 version features:
- Contains 9 parts;
- A printed model is 205 mm tall, 124 mm wide, 120 mm deep;
- All parts are divided in such a way to fit the build plates and to ensure that support structures are generated where needed.

DLP/SLA Pre-supported 1.0 version features:
- Contains 9 parts;
- A printed model is 205 mm tall, 124 mm wide, 120 mm deep;
- The STL files that this version comprises are pre-supportedhollowed out, and have drain holes where needed;
- You may choose to print the STL files one by one or several at once, depending on the dimensions of your resin 3D printer's build plate;
- When slicing several STL files at once, the attachment layers (Platform Touch Shape) may overlap, but the supports must not come into contact.

SLS 1.0 version features:
- Made as a solid one-piece Garrosh figurine;
- A printed model is 205 mm tall, 124 mm wide, 120 mm deep.

Printing Details
Important

To avoid printing issues and achieve the best quality, we highly recommend applying the following settings:

Generic

Below you can find printing recommendations for CuraSimplify3DSlic3r and PrusaSlicer software.

Cura printing recommendations:

These are basic settings that were tested in Cura 4.8.0 slicer.

The test models were printed on Ultimaker 2, Creality Ender 3, Creality CR-10S Pro V2, Anycubic I3 Mega, Anycubic I3 MegaS 3D printers with PLA and PETG filaments.

Disclaimer: The following printing settings are a recommendation, not an obligation. The parameters can vary depending on the peculiarities of your 3D printer, the material you use and especially the particular assembly part at hand. Each part that any model comprises often needs preliminary review and you are free to tweak the settings the way you find suitable.

Note:
- You can scale up the model (downscaling is not recommended!);
- All connectors should be printed at 100% Infill;
- For all parts of locks (“ge_lock” in “Source files”) you need to change "Brim" type to "Skirt" in Build Plate Adhesionsection.

Slic3r printing recommendations:

These basic 3D printing settings recommendations for beginners were tested in Slic3r 1.3.0 software. Test models were printed on Ultimaker 2, Creality Ender 3, Creality Cr-10S pro v2, Anycubic I3 Mega, Anycubic I3 MegaS, Anycubic Vyper with PLA and PetG filaments.

Note:

- You can upscale your 3D printing models. Downscaling is not recommended - it can make smaller parts of the model unprintable, distort the model’s level of detail and result in assembly issues.
- All connectors should be printed at 100% Infill.
- When printing Lock connectors, we recommend setting the “Brim width” parameter to 0 in the "Skirt and Brim" print settings. In that way, the Locks will be 3D printed with a Skirt only.

Extrusion width
You can try setting all parameters in this section, except the First layer, to values between 0.75% of your nozzle diameter and 1.25% of your nozzle diameter. Adjusting them will help you work out the optimal parameters for the best quality for your print. As for the First layer, you can set it to 150% of the diameter of your nozzle for better adhesion to the build plate (for a nozzle with a diameter of 0.4 mm, the First layer extrusion width can be from 0.3 mm to 0.5 mm)
