ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL
The 2001 blockbuster action movie Lara Croft: Tomb Raider introduced another reimagining of the Guinness World Record-holder heroine. Much like her video game counterpart, the highly intelligent and athletic English archaeologist Lara travels across the most remote corners of the planet and ventures into dangerous ruins to unriddle the secrets of the ancient world, satiate her hunger for adventures, and, of course, save us all!
As a long-time fan of Lara Croft and a bit of an adventurer himself, our contributing 3D artist considered it his duty to sculpt the famous heroine for you to 3D print. His Lara Croft Tomb Raider design was particularly inspired by Angelina Jolie's portrayal, which shines through the chiselled features of the young actress and her signature hairstyle - a couple of loose strands and a swinging long braid. Naturally, Lara comes equipped to the teeth and ready to be 3D printed!
ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING
Lara Croft Tomb Raider 3D printing design is a static assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took Gambody team 36 hours. The model's anatomy and proportions were thoroughly reviewed during the moderation process for the stylised heroine to be depicted harmoniously in her confident pose.
The model's cutting was chosen by our team to minimise the amount of generated support and some of the parts were hollowed out for you to save resin in the Eco version. In order to conceal the places where the assembly parts of the model connect, it was cut along the contour of Lara Croft's clothes. For you to achieve the cleanest 3D printed result, the character’s head, loose bangs, braid, hands, gun holsters, boots, etc. are provided as separate assembly parts.
All assembly parts of the FFF/FDM versions come in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out in order to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and so that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate.
The design is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.
The model's scale was calculated from the height of Angelina Jolie which is 1690 mm. The 3D printing design's chosen scales are 1:8 for the FFF/FDM version and 1:16 for the DLP/SLA/SLS versions.
