ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL

"The boy has discovered our secret, Nagini. It makes us vulnerable. We must deploy all our forces now to find him. And you, my friend, must stay close."

Tom Marvolo Riddle, better known by his self-proclaimed title Lord Voldemort, is the most evil wizard for hundreds and hundreds of years and the principal antagonist of J. K. Rowling's series of Harry Potter novels. Obsessed with blood purity and immortality, the ruthless Dark Lord cast the grim shadow over the whole Wizarding World for decades. Nearly every witch or wizard only dared to refer to Lord Voldemort as "You-Know-Who" or "He Who Must Not Be Named”. There were only two people in the whole world that he feared - the wise professor Albus Dumbledore and Harry Potter, the boy who was prophesied to vanquish the Dark Lord.

While still attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the gifted and power-hungry Tom Riddle got captivated by the idea of immortality and got down to the dreadful creation of his seven Horcruxes. The brilliant 3D printing design by our contributing 3D artist depicts one of Dark Lord’s Horcruxes Nagini coiled around her master Lord Voldemort. The author of the fantastic scene did an incredible job portraying both the appearance of the evil wizard and the atmosphere that the character carries through the whole magical franchise. The Lord Voldemort 3D printer model must have been captured in the middle of the Battle of Hogwarts - You-Know-Who wields the Elder Wand and his elegant robes wave with the strong gusts of magic.

ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING

Lord Voldemort 3D printing design is a static assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took Gambody team 55 hours in total. Model's anatomy and body proportions were reviewed during the moderation for You Know Who and his pet snake to be depicted harmoniously in the intended dynamic pose.

The model’s cutting was chosen by our team to minimise the amount generated support and some of the parts were hollowed out for you to save resin in the Eco version. In order to ensure an excellent quality of the 3D printed result, the Dark Lord model was divided into multiple parts, i.e. the head, torso, hands, sleeves, Elder Wand, feet, etc. are provided as separate parts. In addition, Nagini’s upper and lower jaws were extracted from the snake’s mouth.

All the assembly parts of the FFF/FDM 1.0 version of the model come in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out in order to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and so that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. When downloading any model's file you will also receive "Assembly Manual" for FFF/FDM 1.0 and DLP/SLA 1.0 versions in PDF format.

The design is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The model's scale was calculated from Ralph Fiennes' height which is 1830 mm. The 3D printing design's chosen scale is 1:8 for the FFF/FDM version and 1:16 for the DLP/SLA/SLS versions.
