Printing Details

This 3D Model of Titanic consists of files in StereoLithography (.Stl) format that is optimized for 3D printing.

Before printing the files, we strongly recommend reading the PRINTING DETAILS section.

WHAT WILL YOU GET AFTER PURCHASE?

  • 2 versions of Titanic STL files for FFF/FDM and DLP/SLA - files for all versions are available for download after the purchase;
  • STL files of high-poly Titanic Model for 3D printing consist of 356 files;
  • Sizes for:
  • FFF/FDM: 368 mm tall, 178 mm wide, 1354 mm deep;
  • DLP/SLA: 184 mm tall, 89 wide, 677 mm deep;

ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL

"There is no danger that Titanic will sink. The boat is unsinkable and nothing but inconvenience will be suffered by the passengers."

The history of the British luxury passenger liner “Titanic” is so astounding, that it was taken as a basis for numerous books, movies, poems, songs, performances, sculptural and architectural compositions. “Unsinkable” ship struck an iceberg and sank in the North Atlantic Ocean, taking the lives of hundreds of passengers. The history of Titanic could not leave indifferent James Cameron, who directed, wrote and produced a world-famous eponymous movie that tells the love story of Jack and Rose, a poor young artist and a girl of high society. Representing different social classes, the young people still fall in love and enjoy life, not knowing that a big block of ice will ruin their lives.

Impressed by the scale and power of the largest and second of three Olympic-class ocean liners, our contributing artist created this remarkable model for 3D printing. Being 1354 mm long, Titanic is the largest model offered on the Gambody marketplace. The liner features four funnels, the primary purpose of which was to allow smoke, heat and excess steam to escape from the boiler rooms. There is a cargo holder with first-class passenger baggage, including a 1912 Renault Type CB Town Car. The design of the Entrance Hall and Grand Staircase is made with great detail; there is an option to place a massive triple-expansion engine inside the Titanic ship. ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING

Titanic for 3D printing is a static assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took the Gambody team 569 hours in total.

For you to receive the cleanest 3D printing result possible, minimize the amount of filament needed for generated support, and make use of the active elements designed by Gambody Engineers, the liner was divided into convenient assembly parts.

All assembly parts in the FFF/FDM 1.0 version are provided in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out in order to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won’t face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. When downloading any model’s file you will also receive “Assembly Manual” for FFF/FDM 1.0 and DLP/SLA 1.0 versions in PDF format. We highly recommend that you get acquainted with the “Assembly Video” and “Assembly Manual” before getting down to the Titanic model.

The model is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The model’s scale was calculated from the length of the Titanic which is 269000 mm. 

VERSIONS’ SPECIFICATIONS

FFF/FDM & DLP/SLA 1.0 versions’ features:

  • Contain 181 parts and 175 parts respectively;
  • A printed FFF/FDM version of the model is 368 mm tall, 178 mm wide, 1354 mm deep;
  • A printed DLP/SLA version of the model is 184 mm tall, 89 wide, 677 mm deep;
  • In its scope, Titanic is the biggest model offered on Gambody;
  • You can install a steam engine inside the liner. The engine goes as a separate item and can be purchased individually;
  • The steering wheel is turning as well as the cargo gears;
  • Removable lifeboat tents
  • At the front of the passenger liner, there is a cargo holder with first-class passenger baggage (cargo and a 1912 Renault Type CB Town Car. You can install the lights inside the vehicle.);
  • Highly-detailed Entrance Hall and Grand Staircase;
  • There are tunnels inside the ocean liner for you to introduce LED wiring;
  • The ropes are not included in the files and can be made out of thread and fixed with the help of the fastener;
  • After printing the railing of the ship in the FFF/FDM version, you have to bend the railing;
  • Updated design of the 4th funnel to match the canonical appearance;
  • All parts are divided in such a way that you will print them with the smallest number of support structures.

The parameters can vary depending on the peculiarities of your 3D printer, the material you use, and especially the particular assembly part you are working with. These basic 3D printing settings recommendations for beginners were tested in Bambu Studio 1.9.1. Test models were printed on the Bambu Lab A1, Bambu Lab A1 Mini, Creality Ender 3 S1, Anycubic Kobra 2, and Anycubic Vyper using PLA and PETG filaments.
