ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL

“If by my life I can protect you, I will. You have my sword.”

In the history of J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth, Aragorn, famous by many names, became one of the fateful figures who aided Sauron’s demise. First introduced as a mysterious Strider with a tint of suspicious aura to him, Aragorn later revealed himself as the heir of Isildur and pledged his loyalty to the Fellowship of the Ring and Frodo himself. With the help of his boundless wisdom, exceptional battle skills and the sheer power of his unswerving will, Aragorn and his friends were able to overcome the plethora of life-threatening events and come out victorious. Having won not only the horrendous war but the hearts of countless fans across the world, the selfless leader became the hero commemorated by our contributing 3D artist in the form of 3D STL files. The author of the model was particularly inspired by The Lord of The Rings movie trilogy where, in one of the scenes, Aragorn and the dead army are heading towards besieged Minas Tirith, so he decided to try and convey a similar feeling of resolve in his 3D printer model. Naturally, the future King Elessar Telcontar possesses the features of the remarkable actor Viggo Mortensen - his shaggy head of dark hair and stern face will instantly ring the bell. In his hands, Aragorn is firmly holding the legendary restored blade of Andúril, as his trademark attire is flapping in the wind and the Evenstar next to his heart is filling him with hope. The platform of this 3D printing design is decorated with the crown of the King of the Dead and a Gondorian helmet that echo with the memories of the final movie’s events. The true fans of the LOTR series won’t help but fall in love with such a piece!

ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING

Aragorn 3D Printing design is a static assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took Gambody team 42 hours in total. The model's anatomy was thoroughly reviewed by Gambody moderators in order for Elessar to look harmoniously in the intended pose and setting. The model and its platform were divided into as many assembly parts as needed to fit even the smallest 3D printers' build plates and help you create the perfect assembled piece for your LOTR collection. Moreover, the model’s cutting was chosen by our team to minimise the amount of filament needed for generated support and some of the parts were hollowed out for you to save resin in the model’s Eco version. In order to conceal the places where assembly parts must be connected, the model was cut along the seams of Aragorn’s attire. For you to achieve the cleanest 3D printed result, Aragorn’s head, vambraces, flowy cape, Andúril sword, its hilt and sheath, etc. are provided as separate assembly pieces. All assembly parts are provided in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out so to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. When downloading any model's file you will also receive "Assembly Manual" for FFF/FDM 1.0 and DLP/SLA 1.0 versions in PDF format.

The design is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The model's scale was calculated from Aragorn's actual height that is 1980 mm. The 3D printer design's chosen scale is 1/8 for the FFF/FDM version and 1/16 for the DLP/SLA/SLS versions.
