ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL

The adventures of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are known around the world and there are generations of fans of the legendary franchise showing the life of four turtle brothers named after Renaissance artists. Donatello is a second-in-command team member who is known for his rationality, logical thinking, and passion for science and technology. Together with his brothers Donnie trains in ninjutsu instructed by Master Splinter to fight the dark powers of New York City and forms a strong friendship with April O’Neil, the human ally of the turtles.

The author of Donatello TMNT figurine for 3D printing in diorama spent many hours learning features of the appearance and personality of the superhero to make sure that his work would reflect the character as closely as possible. The chosen posture of Donnie is inspired by the battle scenes that we often see in the series: the ninja turtle is depicted relying on a fire hydrant and holding a bo, his signature weapon, in his hands. Anger and decisiveness can be read in the appearance of the hero: Don is shown clenching the teeth and stretching the forehead muscles, and the body muscles of the turtle are tense to the extent you can see the bulging veins on his hands and legs. We can't help but admire the outstanding resemblance of the figurine with the series character and sincerely hope you would love to 3D print this TMNT diorama to evaluate its level of detail and expressional look!

ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING

Donatello TMNT figurine for 3D printing in diorama is a static assembly figurine and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took the Gambody team 72 hours in total. The figurines' anatomy and proportions were thoroughly reviewed during the moderation process for the mutant to be depicted harmoniously in the intended pose.

The figurine’s cutting was chosen by our team to minimise the amount of generated support and some of the parts were hollowed out for you to save resin in the Eco version. In order to conceal the places where the assembly parts of the figurine are connected, Donatello was divided into convenient assembly parts.

All assembly parts in the FFF/FDM 1.0 version are provided in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out in order to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. When downloading any model's file you will also receive "Assembly Manual" for FFF/FDM 1.0 and DLP/SLA 1.0 versions in PDF format. We highly recommend that you get acquainted with the “Assembly Video” and "Assembly Manual" before getting down to Donatello TMNT 3D printing figurine in diorama.

The model is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The figurine’s scale was calculated from the height of Donatello. The 3D printing figurine’s chosen scales are 1:8 for the FFF/FDM version and 1:16 for the DLP/SLA/SLS versions.
