ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL

Harry James Potter, also known as The Boy Who Lived was prophesied at birth to be chosen as the greatest rival of Lord Voldemort, the one with the power to vanquish You-Know-Who and ultimately become a universally accepted hero. And what is more, not only would the wizarding world glorify the Chosen One’s heroic deeds, but those muggles who were lucky to avoid the International Statute of Secrecy would also celebrate the only known survivor of the Killing Curse and even come up with wonderful 3D printing designs. At midnight on Harry's eleventh birthday, a half-giant wizard Rubeus Hagrid personally delivered him a letter of acceptance to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. That is when the young boy with a lightning-bolt scar on the forehead discovered the incredible truth about his identity and thus the fascinating life full of magic, happiness and tremendous losses and sacrifices began. Harry Potter would buy his first holly wand from Ollivander’s, be sorted into Gryffindor House, meet his lifelong friends, find a real family and even become the youngest Quidditch Seeker in over a century! The Boy Who Lived would also undergo many severe trials and face terrible misfortunes in his struggle against Lord Voldemort. And now for all the fans who grew up with J.K.Rowling’s series of fantasy novels, there is an amazing Harry Potter 3D model to print. The author of the model spent 135 hours to complete the project and depict the young wizard accompanied by the loyal snowy owl Hedwig who is sitting on the top of school trunks. For some reason, we are perfectly sure that once printed one would never store the amazing result in the cupboard beneath the staircase!

ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING

Harry 3D printing design is a static assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took Gambody team 32 hours in total. Model's anatomy was thoroughly reviewed during the moderation process for the young wizard to be depicted harmoniously in the intended magic performing pose. The model’s cutting was chosen by our team to minimise the amount of filament needed for generated support and some of the parts were hollowed out for you to save resin. For you to receive the cleanest results possible the magic wand was extracted from Harry’s hand and the boy’s glasses are provided as separate three-piece part. Besides, Harry’s scarf was ‘taken off’ as well to ensure nice printing result and is attached to the model only by the boy’s head. All school trunks that are piled up behind the wizard come as separate files for you to choose yourself the way to arrange them with the Hedwig on top. All the assembly parts are provided in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out so to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate.

The design is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The model's scale was calculated from Harry's actual height that is 1550 mm. The 3D printing design's chosen scale is 1/8 for the FFF/FDM version and 1/16 for the DLP/SLA/SLS versions.
