ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL
From the depths of space, a gentle soul arrives on Earth in the form of the Iron Giant. This towering robot, despite his formidable sci-fi exterior, embodies kindness and innocence. Befriending a young boy named Hogarth, the Giant learns about humanity, about good and evil, and draws inspiration from comic book heroes like Superman. Their heartwarming friendship is tested as they strive to hide the colossal robot from a world quick to judge by appearances. The Iron Giant's journey is a touching tale of acceptance, self-discovery, and the heroic choices we make, reminding us that even the mightiest of robots can have the gentlest of hearts.
Brought to life by a talented Gambody 3D artist, this Iron Giant STL perfectly embodies the character's iconic form and endearing nature. This robot 3D model boasts incredible articulation with movable joints, allowing you to recreate his expressive poses, including the classic Superman pose. The model also features three head options: a solid head with neutral or angry eyes, and a special head designed for LED wiring with separate eyes. Enhance your Iron Giant's combat readiness with the included Arm Cannon, interchangeable with his right arm, and add the iconic "S" sign to his chest for the perfect display. Capture the wonder of this beloved cartoon with The Iron Giant 3D model.
ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING
The Iron Giant 3D printing design is an active assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took the Gambody team 88 hours in total. For you to receive the cleanest 3D printing result possible, minimize the amount of filament needed for generated support, and make use of the active elements designed by Gambody Engineers, the robot was divided into convenient assembly parts.
All assembly parts in the FFF/FDM versions are provided in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out in order to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won’t face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. When downloading any model’s file you will also receive “Assembly Manual” for 2.0 FFF/FDM and 2.0 DLP/SLA versions in PDF and video formats. We highly recommend that you get acquainted with the “Assembly Video” and “Assembly Manual” before getting down to the Iron Giant.
The design is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.
The 3D model’s scale was calculated from the Iron Giant's height, which is 15240 mm. The 3D printer design’s chosen scales are 1:50 for the FFF/FDM version and 1:100 for the DLP/SLA version.
