Printing Details

This 3D model of Knight 2000 consists of files in StereoLithography (.Stl) format that is optimized for 3D printing.

Before printing the files, we strongly recommend reading the PRINTING DETAILS section.

ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL

A robotic vehicle controlled by an AI electronic computer module, KITT is a car with advanced characteristics and high technological capabilities. The movie dialogues between the KITT and Michael Knight remind the friends’ conversations, and this is the KITT that helps the Knight Rider protagonist fight the illegal arms dealers in numerous spectacular encounters.

KITT from Knight Rider for 3D printing from Gambody contributor is a 3D model with a level of detail and articulation possibilities that say a lot about the immense talent of its author: the vehicle comes with active suspension with the front wheels controlled by a steering wheel, there numerous movable elements, elaborate interior and the possibility of LED illumination. ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING

Knight Rider car model for 3D printing is an active assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took the Gambody team 107 hours in total.

For you to receive the cleanest 3D printing result possible, minimize the amount of filament needed for generated support, and make use of the active elements designed by Gambody Engineers, the vehicle was divided into convenient assembly parts.

All assembly parts in the 1.0 FFF/FDM version are provided in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out in order to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won’t face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. When downloading any model’s file you will also receive “Assembly Manual” for 1.0 FFF/FDM and 1.0 DLP/SLA versions in PDF and video formats. We highly recommend that you get acquainted with the “Assembly Video” and “Assembly Manual” before getting down to the Knight Rider 3D model.

The design is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The 3D model’s scale was calculated from the length of the vehicle which is 4956 mm. The 3D printer design’s chosen scales are 1:16. for the FFF/FDM version, and 1:32 for the DLP/SLA version.

  • The front wheels turn with a steering wheel;
  • Pop-up headlights;
  • The doors, the hood, and the trunk open;
  • Removable door glass;
  • Detachable tow hook;
  • Rotating license plate;
  • Tunnels for LED wiring to illuminate car lights and interior;
  • Use a printed instrument cluster for the dashboard;
  • All parts are divided in such a way to fit the build plates and to ensure that support structures are generated where needed.

The parameters can vary depending on the peculiarities of your 3D printer, the material you use, and especially the particular assembly part you are working with.
