This 3D model of M1A2 Abrams Tusk consists of files in StereoLithography (.Stl) format that is optimized for 3D printing.

ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL

First tanks were created more than a century ago and since then, they have constantly developed, becoming more technologically advanced. Tank M1A2 Abrams Tusk 3D Printing Model is inspired by a powerful military vehicle of American armed forces which was used in the Iraq war, the Gulf war, and during the mission in Afghanistan. M1A2 is very maneuverable for a tank and possesses advanced characteristics, it can be definitely called one of the best tanks ever made. The model is also often used in different tank multiplayer games and it is no surprise the collectors, both gamers and military equipment lovers, want to have this item in their collections.

Our contributing 3D artist spent hours of hard work learning the design and mechanisms of the M1A2 Abrams Tusk to create the model that will be as close to the real battle tank as possible. The updated 2.0 version has a lot of surprises for all fans of the iconic tracked land combat system, starting from numerous movable parts to absolutely new add-ons such as the Mine Clearing Blade System. ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING

The M1A2 Abrams Tusk model for 3D printing is an active assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took the Gambody team 95 hours in total.

For you to receive the cleanest 3D printing result possible, minimize the amount of filament needed for generated support, and make use of the active elements designed by Gambody Engineers, the tank was divided into convenient assembly parts.

All assembly parts in the FFF/FDM 2.0 version are provided in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out in order to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won’t face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. When downloading any model’s file you will also receive “Assembly Manual” for FFF/FDM 2.0 and DLP/SLA 2.0 versions in PDF and video formats. We highly recommend that you get acquainted with the “Assembly Video” and “Assembly Manual” before getting down to the M1A2 Abrams Tusk 3D printing model.

The model is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The model’s scale was calculated from the length of the M1A2 Abrams Tusk which is 9800 mm. The 3D printing model’s chosen scales are 1:35 for the FFF/FDM version and 1:48 for the DLP/SLA version.

VERSIONS’ SPECIFICATIONS

FFF/FDM 2.0 version features:

  • Contains 107 parts;
  • A printed model is 93 mm tall, 125 mm wide, 279 mm deep;
  • 2 variants of caterpillars - cut in two and round to print with flexible PLA;
  • 2 variants of combat armor;
  • The roller can be attached with a rope or a chain;
  • 2 variants of the gun base - solid with a machine gun and collapsible;
  • 2 variants of the turrets - solid with a machine gun and collapsible;
  • 2 variants of the hull featuring alternative combat armor;
  • 2 variants of the turret - with and without the combat armor;
  • All parts are divided in such a way that you will print them with the smallest number of support structures.

DLP/SLA 2.0 version features:

  • Contains 10 parts;
  • A printed model is 87 mm tall, 66 mm wide, 200 mm deep;
  • 2 variants of the hull featuring alternative combat armor;
  • 2 variants of the turret - with and without the combat armor;
  • All parts are divided in such a way to fit the build plates and to ensure that support structures are generated where needed.

FFF/FDM 1.0 version features:

  • Contains 100 parts;
  • A printed model is 95 mm tall, 132 mm wide, 285 mm deep;
  • High detail-fidelity of the tank’s body and internal layout - the driver’s compartment, the engine are worked up to the highest detail;
  • You’ll get an extra armoring in the kit;
  • The miniature has movable parts: the gun, caterpillars and wheels;
  • Note that the suspensions and caterpillars should be printed at 100% infill to make them solid;
  • All parts are divided in such a way that you will print them with the smallest number of support structures.

SLS 1.0 version features:

  • Contains 2 parts;
  • A printed model is 87 mm tall, 66 mm wide, 200 mm deep.

The parameters can vary depending on the peculiarities of your 3D printer, the material you use, and especially the particular assembly part you are working with. Each part that any model comprises often needs preliminary review, and you are free to tweak the settings the way you find suitable.

Note:

  • You can scale up the model (downscaling for FFF/FDM 3D printers is not recommended!);
