ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL

Gravity Falls is arguably the most well written and well-executed animated series ever created. The mystery-packed comedy show is so full of plot twists, puzzles, discoveries and supernatural that are presented in such a precise and clever way, one may find it difficult to believe the story fits into 40 episodes only! The epicentre of the unforgettable summer adventures of Mabel and Dipper Pines happens to be the tourist trap called the "Mystery Shack" that is run by their great-uncle ("Grunkle") Stan. As you might have already guessed, the tourist shop hides a ton of mysteries on its own!

Our contributing 3D artist did a phenomenal job modelling a 3D printing version of the Pines’ Shack! The ever-changing house is depicted with astonishing attention to every little detail and still, the 3D printing project leaves room for your imagination. For instance, you can choose to assemble the intact or knocked off Mystery Shack name on the cabin’s sloping roof. The interior of the 3D printing three-storey cabin is completely empty so it is up to you whether to furnish the magical Shack or not!

ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING

Mystery Shack for 3D printing is a static assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took Gambody team 53 hours in total. For you to receive the cleanest 3D printing result possible and to minimize the amount of filament needed for generated support the highly detailed tourist shop model was divided into many assembly parts.

All assembly parts are provided in STL files of the FFF/FDM version in recommended positions that were worked out to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. When downloading any model's file you will also receive "Assembly Manual" for FFF/FDM 1.0 and DLP/SLA/SLS 1.0 versions in PDF format. We highly recommend that you get acquainted with the “Assembly video” and "Assembly Manual" before getting down to the Mystery Shack model.

The model is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The model's scale was calculated from the approximate height of the entrance door which is 2000 m. The 3D printing model's chosen scale is 1:48 for the FFF/FDM version and 1:96 for the DLP/SLA/SLS version.

Below you can find printing recommendations for CuraSimplify3D and Slic3r software.

Cura printing recommendations:

These are basic settings that were tested in Cura 4.8.0 slicer.

The test models were printed on Ultimaker 2, Creality Ender 3, Creality CR-10S Pro V2, Anycubic I3 Mega, Anycubic I3 MegaS 3D printers with PLA and PETG filaments.

Disclaimer: The following printing settings are a recommendation, not an obligation. The parameters can vary depending on the peculiarities of your 3D printer, the material you use and especially the particular assembly part at hand. Each part that any model comprises often needs preliminary review and you are free to tweak the settings the way you find suitable.

Note:
- You can scale up the model (downscaling is not recommended!);
- All connectors should be printed at 100% Infill;
- For all parts of locks (“ge_lock” in “Source files”) you need to change "Brim" type to "Skirt" in Build Plate Adhesion section.
