ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL
The Narcissus is a shuttlecraft and lifeboat of the interstellar towing vehicle USCSS Nostromo. Designed to aid in case of emergencies, the Narcissus was stored on the underside of the Nostromo, waiting for its chance to help the crew. In an unfortunate turn of events, the hostile Alien Xenomorph was able to infiltrate the Nostromo and the ship was destroyed in an attempt to kill the creature. The last remaining crew member, courageous Warrant Officer Ellen Ripley, boarded the Narcissus with the sole hope of surviving the disaster, only to discover that the violent monster hid in a small crevice of the shuttle. To pay homage to the game-changing Narcissus lifeboat and the final battle that kept us on the edge of our seats, our contributing 3D artist decided to create the Narcissus 3D Printing Model that can now become a part of your movie fleet! This model for 3D printing explores the ship’s streamlined forms and the plethora of little details with overwhelming attention. The shuttle’s exterior is covered with complex patterns that make it look extremely true to life. Equipped with two forward or four rearward thrust tunnels, the shuttle will be able to navigate in whichever direction you require. Beneath the ship’s outer body, lies the elaborate single internal cabin created by the 3D modeller. The interior perfectly reflects the numerous cryotubes, lockers and storage space for supplies and equipment that the original ship had, as well as the central control unit that Ripley used to blast the threatening creature into space. Last but not least, the Xenomorph itself is hiding in one of the walls of the Narcissus 3D Printing Model. However, do not fear, all of it will only help you create a fantastic piece for your collection!
ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING
Narcissus for 3D printing is a static assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took Gambody team 55 hours in total. For you to receive the cleanest 3D printing result possible and to minimize the amount of filament needed for generated support the spacecraft model was divided into many assembly parts, e.g. its Airlock, engine thrusters, the covers of thrusters, the Xenomorph, rear thrust tunnels, Hypersleep Chambers, cockpit windows, etc. are provided as separate STL files. The covers of the four Rear Thrust Tunnels, windows of the cockpit and two Hypersleep Chambers are provided separately and can be printed with transparent filament. Tunnels throughout the ship’s body are provided for LED wiring to light up the interior of the shuttle and the four Rear Thrust Tunnels. A spot to hide the battery is provided inside the Central Control Unit. For you to display the Narcissus model among your Space Ships collection there is a special stand provided. All assembly parts are provided in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out in order to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. When downloading any model's file you will also receive "Assembly Manual" for FFF/FDM 1.0 and DLP/SLA/SLS 1.0 versions in PDF format. We highly recommend that you get acquainted with the “Assembly video” and "Assembly Manual" before getting down to the Narcissus model.
The model is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.
The model's scale was calculated from the actual length of the Narcissus that is 16300 mm. The 3D printing model's chosen scale is 1/50 for FFF/FDM version and 1/100 for DLP/SLA/SLS version.

Below you can find printing recommendations for Cura, Simplify3D, Slic3r and PrusaSlicer software.
Disclaimer: The following printing settings are a recommendation, not an obligation. The parameters can vary depending on the peculiarities of your 3D printer, the material you use, and especially the particular assembly part you are working with. Each part that any model comprises often needs preliminary review, and you are free to tweak the settings the way you find suitable.
Note:
- You can scale up the model (downscaling for FFF/FDM 3D printers is not recommended!);
- All connectors should be printed at 100% Infill.
