HISTORY OF THE SHADOW HAWK

The Shadow Hawk is the achievement of robot engineering of the Golden Century, specifically built in 2550 as a multitask unit. Speed and impressive firepower are perfectly combined in its design. Its maneuverability and a combination of short-range and long-range weapons make it one of the best mechs of its class. Though the first version of the mech first appeared long before the 2550 release, a blunder in its armor rendered it unsuitable for battlefield. That defect was only corrected much later, and so historians mark 2550 as the real date of the design’s full-scale release. Manufacturing of the Shadow Hawk for the Star League, as well as the Great Houses continued until the manufacturer’s factory was destroyed. After that, Earthwerks was the only enterprise whose facilities kept producing these mechs within the Inner Sphere.

Technical specifications

The basis for the creation was a configuration SHD-2D.

ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL

The model is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers

FDM version features:

  • Contain 40 parts;
  • A printed model is 262 mm tall, 163 mm wide, 133 mm deep;
  • Made with Joints and Claws. One part of Joint (17_Axis_1_B_Joint_x4) you need to print 4 times. One part of Joint (26_Axis_1_B_Joint_x2 (repaired)) you need to print twice. One part of (18_B_Claw_x6) you need to print 6 times.
  • Assembly kit includes locks. One part of Lock (9_Ge_lock_10H_x8) you need to print 8 times.
  • All limbs are movable as in the game: legs, weapons and torso rotating 360 °
  • All parts are divided in such way that you will print them with the smallest amount of supports.

DLP/SLA/SLS version features:

  • Same as FDM but smaller, also made as 13 parts;
  • A printed model is 157 mm tall, 98 mm wide, 88 mm deep;
  • Has a few details, to keep printing costs down.

All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

Note: Before starting 3D printing the model, read the Printing Details tab.

Scale: MWO Shadow Hawk actual height is 15500 mm. The model’s chosen scale is 1/60 for FFF/FDM version and 1/100 for DLP/SLA/SLS version.
