Detailed information about this 3D printing model is available in the DESCRIPTION section.
In the opening moments of the original Star Wars: A New Hope film, Leia’s Corellian Corvette with the stolen Death Star plans aboard is being chased by a tremendously designed Imperial Star Destroyer. The second spaceship to appear in the franchise instantly gives an idea of the immense scope of the Star Wars story and sets up the sense of the Empire’s military might against the Rebel Alliance. Star Destroyer, the symbol of the Imperial Fleet is an exceptionally versatile ship that is said to be able to singlehandedly overwhelm an entire rebellious planet.
The tremendous effort and circa 260 hours dedicated to the creation of the project by our contributing 3D artist resulted in an unbelievable Star Destroyer 3D printing model. The author of the 3D printing capital ship specifically intended to present the heavily armed Imperial II-class Star Destroyer that carries full sets of turbolaser batteries and boasts highly detailed built-in engine compartments for your authentic Star Wars project. One of the most iconic looking and powerful mainline starships ever designed can finally be 3D printed!
ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING
Star Destroyer for 3D printing is a static assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took Gambody team 100 hours in total. For you to receive the cleanest 3D printing result possible and to minimize the amount of filament needed for generated support the massive spacecraft model was divided into many assembly parts.
All assembly parts are provided in STL files of the FFF/FDM version in recommended positions that were worked out to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. When downloading any model's file you will also receive "Assembly Manual" for FFF/FDM 1.0 and DLP/SLA/SLS 1.0 versions in PDF format. We highly recommend that you get acquainted with the “Assembly video” and "Assembly Manual" before getting down to the Star Destroyer model.
The model is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.
The model's scale was calculated fromthe actual length of the Star Destroyer which is 1600 m. The 3D printing model's chosen scale is 1:1700 for the FFF/FDM version and 1:3400 for the DLP/SLA/SLS version.
