ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL

The creative work of Gerry Anderson is undoubtedly phenomenal, the English television and film producer directed numerous successful futuristic television programs, such as Stingray, Space:1999, UFO, Joe 90, Fireball XL5, and Thunderbirds, among others, that have thousands of fans around the world and stand out for their great characters, special humor and unique visuals. The story of the Stingray television series revolves around the adventures of the crew of the combat submarine Stingray, when Captain Troy Tempest, Phones and Marina navigate the oceans for the WASP.

Retro futuristic submarine from the legendary series served as an inspiration for Gambody contributing 3D artist, who created Stingray 3D model according to their vision that we hope will be appreciated by every series fan. The surface of the model for 3D printing is carefully modeled and the parts are divided the way you can print them using printing materials of different colors. The sci-fi submarine features a detailed interior, its illumination possibilities definitely deserve your attention, and additionally, with alternative stands the 3D printed model can look in different ways. These and other Stingray’s features make this 3D printing design an ideal choice to master your hobby skills!

ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING

Stingray Submarine 3D printing design is a static assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took the Gambody team 93 hours in total.

For you to receive the cleanest 3D printing result possible, minimize the amount of filament needed for generated support, and make use of the active elements designed by Gambody Engineers, the submarine was divided into convenient assembly parts.

All assembly parts in the FFF/FDM 1.0 version are provided in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out in order to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won’t face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. When downloading any model’s file you will also receive “Assembly Manual” for 1.0 FFF/FDM and 1.0 DLP/SLA versions in PDF and video formats. We highly recommend that you get acquainted with the “Assembly Video” and “Assembly Manual” before getting down to the Stingray Submarine 3D model.

The design is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The 3D model’s scale was calculated from the length of the Stingray Submarine. The 3D printer design’s chosen scales are 1:64 for the FFF/FDM version, and 1:128 for the DLP/SLA version.
