ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL
Iron Man is a hero known for saving humanity dozens of times and fighting a variety of intergalactic battles. But even having reached such immense heights, you can never forget where you came from and the hard path you walked! Back in 2008, we were shown the humble beginnings of Iron Man’s infamous powered suit of armour - rocky test runs in Tony Stark’s workshop, bare mechanics without the beautiful plating, and the first successful flight. Follow in Tony’s footsteps to success and 3D print the memorable diorama!
Our contributing 3D artist created a diorama for 3D printing inspired by the scene that you probably have memorised! Tony Stark of stunning likeness is the heart of the composition. He is testing the highly detailed palm-based repulsor gauntlets and thruster boots while tangled in wires all over. Loyal Dum-E robot in its fire safety mode is assisting the test thanks to the active elements implemented in it. This highly detailed and nostalgia-inducing diorama will fit your Marvel collection perfectly!
ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING
Tony Stark Mech Test 3D printing diorama is an assembly model with active elements, its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took Gambody team 35 hours. The model's anatomy and proportions were thoroughly reviewed during the moderation process for the hero to be depicted harmoniously in the intended pose, and the articulation of the Dum-E robot was reviewed.
The model’s cutting was chosen by our team to minimise the amount of generated support and some of the parts were hollowed out for you to save resin in the Eco version. In order to conceal the places where the assembly parts of the model are connected, the model was cut along the seams of Tony Stark’s clothes. For you to achieve the cleanest 3D printed result, the character’s head, arms, torso, hands, legs, elements of the Dum-E robot etc. are provided as separate assembly parts.
All assembly parts of the 1.0 FFF/FDM version come in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out in order to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and so that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate.
The 3D printing design is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.
The model's scale was calculated from the height of Tony Stark which is 1740 mm. The 3D printing design's chosen scale is 1:4 for the FFF/FDM version and 1:8 for the DLP/SLA/SLS versions.
