ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL
USS Reliant (NCC-1864) is a beautiful jewel of the Star Trek's Federation fleet. Initially intended as the battered sister ship to the Enterprise, she carries on with the design traditions that represent the culture and technology engraved in her.
The memorable form was captured by our contributing 3D artist in the USS Reliant 3D Printing Model. The large saucer of the ship is decorated with elaborate patterns and has the NCC-1864 logo proudly displayed on it. Hundreds of small windows across the hull and the shuttles safely hidden at the bay remind us of the Reliant's huge scale, and the sharp futuristic pylons create a sense of moving through time and space at unimaginable speed. Make sure to 3D print the USS Reliant model to forever enjoy the beauty of sci-fi design!
ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING
USS Reliant for 3D printing is an active assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took the Gambody team 43 hours in total.
For you to receive the cleanest 3D printing result possible, minimize the amount of filament needed for generated support, and assemble the model with a variety of configurations, the ship was divided into convenient assembly parts.
All assembly parts in the FFF/FDM 1.0 version are provided in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out in order to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. When downloading any model's file you will also receive "Assembly Manual" for FFF/FDM 1.0 and DLP/SLA 1.0 versions in PDF format. We highly recommend that you get acquainted with the “Assembly video” and "Assembly Manual" before getting down to the USS Reliant model.
The model is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown. The model’s scale was calculated from the length of the USS Reliant which is 237 000 mm. The 3D printing model’s chosen scales are 1:350 for the FFF/FDM version and 1:700 for the DLP/SLA version.
