ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL

Varian Wrynn was the King of Stormwind, High King of the Grand Alliance and one of the main characters of the World of Warcraft fictional universe. Under his fierce and strong leadership, the kingdom embarked on a path to restoration after the First War and people of Stormwind led the Alliance to victory against the Lich King. Varian Wrynn proved to be a great king, devoted leader and perfect blade master. As any focal character of the Warcraft video game, Varian Wrynn has a strong fanbase who tests all known creative limits and produces cosplay pieces and artworks of an incredible level. The author of this beautiful 3D printing design was also fascinated by one of such fan arts and spent 155 hours to depict the legendary king. Lo’Gosh stands still, as if mere minutes after the battle ended, holding the Alliance banner in his left hand on a tall flagpole for all enemies to see. In his right hand, the king is holding his usual Shalamayne sword that is hanging low but will undoubtedly be brought into service if there is a need. The imposing belt that was previously worn by his mentor Anduin Lothar is adorning the Ghost Wolf’s bulky armour as well the lion and eagle that guard the ruler’s shoulders. Varian Wrynn took his rightful place as a king and was always ready to protect his people at all costs. And now you’ve got a chance to display the legendary warrior on your bookshelf - the files for 3D printing are just a click away.

ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING

Varian Wrynn 3D printing design is a static assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took Gambody team 42 hours in total. Model's anatomy was thoroughly reviewed during the moderation process for the king to be depicted harmoniously in the intended heroic pose. The model's cutting was chosen by our team to minimise the amount of filament needed for generated support and some of the parts were hollowed out for you to save resin in the model's Eco version. Moreover, in order to conceal places where assembly parts of the model must be connected, the model was cut along the contour of Varian Wrynn’s massive armour seams. Besides, the Ghost Wolf’s cloak, as well as shoulder ‘guards’, were “taken off” to ensure the cleanest 3D printed result possible. With the same intention, such smaller parts as king’s Shalamayne sword, the Alliance banner, flagpole and vambraces are provided as separate files. All assembly parts are provided in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out so to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate.

The design is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The model's scale was calculated from Varian Wrynn's actual height that is 1880 mm. The 3D printing design's chosen scale is 1/8 for the FFF/FDM version and 1/16 for the DLP/SLA/SLS versions.

Below you can find printing recommendations for Cura, Bambu Studio, Simplify3D, Slic3r and PrusaSlicer software.

Disclaimer: The following printing settings are a recommendation, not an obligation. The parameters can vary depending on the peculiarities of your 3D printer, the material you use, and especially the particular assembly part you are working with. Each part that any model comprises often needs preliminary review, and you are free to tweak the settings the way you find suitable.

Note:

You can scale up the model (downscaling for FFF/FDM 3D printers is not recommended!);

All connectors should be printed at 100% Infill.
