ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL

Geralt of Rivia is a witcher, a professional monster slayer and the protagonist of The Witcher action video game series. In order to become a Witcher, young children are being subjected to extensive physical and magical training including even some alchemical processes that endow the warrior-to-be with a set of superhuman abilities. One of the most critically acclaimed video game series ever made The Witcher: Wild Hunt must have deeply impressed the author of this 3D printing design who created a model to rejoice all fans among the 3D printing enthusiasts. Both the sword in the scabbard and the one Geralt is holding were designed by the 3D artist to resemble the Serpentine steel and silver swords the brave monster-hunter is often seen wielding in the game. The unchangeable medallion put on top of his Kaer Morhen armour symbolises Geralt’s belonging to the witcher’s School of the Wolf that will for sure be well-liked by the franchise fans. The stare that courageous warrior is depicted ready to fight the opponents is cold and ruthless that portrays Geralt’s character with astonishing accuracy. He is a master of swordsmanship with some superhuman abilities who is often seen making use of alchemy study fighting the inhuman danger. We a pretty sure a professional monster slayer can become a gem in your 3D printed collection!

ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING

Witcher 3D printing design is a static assembly model and its updating and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took Gambody team 56 hours in total. Due to the fact that this model was first released on Gambody in 2016 as a solid one-piece model, for all the Witcher fans to print the cleanest model possible the model was cut into assembly parts and adapted for different types of 3D printers taking into account the present-day technology advancements. Geralt’s anatomy was thoroughly reviewed during the moderation process for the Witcher to be depicted harmoniously in the intended pose. The model’s cutting was chosen by our team to minimise the amount of filament needed for generated support and some of the parts were hollowed out for you in the model’s Eco version to save resin. In order to ensure the smooth result, Witcher’s swords, scabbard, medallion and hook are now provided as separate STL files. Moreover, in order to conceal the places where assembly parts of the model must be connected, the model was cut along the contour of Witcher Kaer Morhen armour’s seams, e.g. model's boots and gloves were taken off. All the assembly parts are provided in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out so to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate.

The model is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The model's scale was calculated from Witcher's actual height that is 1900 mm. The 3D printing design's chosen scale is 1/8 for the FFF/FDM version and 1/16 for the DLP/SLA/SLS versions.
